While God's word is 'truth' and 'absolute' there are times in our lives when we question the things we believe. Hence, I don't fault you, Neil. However, I'd like to refer you to MARK 9:24(but you can begin from verse 20 to get the full story)

that verse says "....I believe; help my unbelief!"

It appears our unbeliefs can wrestle with the things we truly believe. Our best shot at getting out of such conflict is in submitting it to Jesus.
